Many years ago, I happened upon an article on
the history of wet and dry cupping for
alternative methodologies in natural medicine.
Influenced by the fascinating history of this
ancient but effective method along with
homeopathy and allopathy, I pursued my interest
in natural health and medicine by undertaking a
qualification in Hijama certification.
I acquired my certification at the highest level
of the program from IPHM (International
Practitioner of Holistic Medicine,) in
Manchester, UK in 2020.
I worked as a Hijama practitioner from then
through September of 2022 when I moved to
the US. In 2023, I acquired the Wet & Dry
cupping certification through the Professional
Wellness Alliance (PWA) in Texas.
Through all my studies, I have learned to focus
on identifying and addressing the root causes of
disease and ill health conditions.
I am constantly striving to perfect my
knowledge and understanding of not only
cupping but also various other natural medicine
techniques.
Cupping involves placing small cups on troubled
areas of the body and creating suction to pull the
tissue up slightly. This may help relax muscles and
tissues, relieve pain, and trigger the body's natural
healing processes.
The cup will be left on these points for several
minutes. This allows the toxins to be 'extracted'
from your flesh and once the suction is released,
the toxins can easily flow out of your system
through your stool and urine.
Fixed cupping is used as a precursor to wet
cupping to help draw the toxic blood into a
concentrated area for easy removal via wet
cupping. However, it can also be used as a
standalone treatment.
Wet cupping also called Hijama, is the most
specialized type of cupping therapy.
It is done in addition to fixed cupping to remove
toxins directly from the body rather than letting
the toxins drain out through the stool and urine.
This is the most effective means to detox in most
cases. A specially designed surgical blade is used in
the process to gently scratch the top layer of skin
to allow toxic blood to be released once suction is
applied.
This special surgical blade is designed to not leave
any scars and to minimize pain (you'd be surprised
at how little you feel!)
